Carnival Cruise hosted our family for this trip. They covered most of our expenses. All opinions are my own.
So last week I left the country. Carnival Cruise invited our family to check out the Carnival Vista, one of their newest ships. How could I say no? They hosted the four of us on a six day cruise to the western Caribbean. It was six glorious days!
I have lots to share, but will spread it out so you won’t get sick of our beach photos. This is the third cruise for me and fourth for my husband. You might not have guessed, but we enjoy cruising. I love that cruising on Carnival allows us to do things as a family and time for date nights. We made sure to take a ton of spousies! (FYI: Spousies is like a selfie, but with your spouse. I totally made it up.)
We had two date nights during our cruise. One night was dinner in the delicious Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse. The other was seeing Jay Leno perform his stand-up live! Leno is funny and even more charismatic in person. Carnival Live is a series concerts and comedians who perform right on the ship. The theatre is intimate and there’s no bad seat in the house. There’s even wait staff who will take your drink order and deliver it your seat. Sounds like a perfect date night. Tickets are in addition to your cruise fare, but the intimate space is totally worth it.
One thing I wanted from our cruise was professional photos of our family. We’ve never had them taken. I don’t think my husband and I have posed for professional photos since our wedding almost 15 years ago. Pixels, the department that takes the cruise photos (and sells them), sets up different spots on the ship where you can pose for photos each night. After the photographer took the family photos, he made my husband and I pose for a few just the two of us.
Well, let’s just say the poses were a bit. . .cheesy. We didn’t purchase any but I managed to screenshot this one:
Our instructions where, “You hold her hand and kiss it. And you, look at him.” Except I started to crack up when he snapped the photo. I saw other people’s photos and they looked beautiful. It’s totally my fault that I don’t have a poker face during weird poses.
I guess I’ll have to stick to our silly spousies for now.
